Seamless

Seamless is a body of photographs that features the “cyc” (short for cyclorama) shooting coves of large Hollywood sets. These spaces are constructed in many different formations but typically have no corners so that all traces of space and perspective can be eliminated. Many are painted white, while others are green or blue for various techniques of removing all background information. Often sets are built into these spaces and other scenic elements are project via video.
Seamless explores the idea of the Hollywood "blank slate" - the idea that in these spaces any time, place or culture can be projected onto surfaces and walls with no trace of the present bodies of labor, space, time or any other aspects of what is here or what was.
